Batamini Spy

I spy with my little eye a pair of fabulous shoes on one of my favourite people. Toolz of the BeatFM...

I was going through my phone one day and someone's display picture caught my eye. It was a pair of legs in fabulous pair of shoes. I was so excited, it was like I was having a shoegasm moment. I immediately asked her to send me the image so I can share the picture with you guys.

what do you think?? Nice huh?

Batamini Story

This day I was having a chat with a very dear friend of mine. We got talking about Batamini and how many shoes I might have (I have no idea actually, I’ll try to do a count) and a painful memory came to mind.

A few years ago, we (my family and I) were moving into another house in England. We decided to do this move whilst I was on holiday in Nigeria with the kids (I hate moving houses). On returning to England into our new home, I discovered that my shoe room looked a bit lighter than normal (we always made room for my shoe collection). I didn’t think much of it and just assumed I had probably left some shoes in Nigeria (we were also considering moving back to Nigeria then). Anyway one faithful day, I decided to wear a pair of foxy knee high boots I bought when I was in Munich Germany, gosh wish I had a picture to shoe you. I looked everywhere for these boots and did not find them. I settled for another pair of shoes, but all day I was disturbed and upset about not finding them (see I am very passionate about my shoes, I can’t even bear throwing old shoes away or giving them out). I got home that evening and was having a conversation with my dear husband. We strayed to my shoes and I told him that it’s weird me looking for these boots (I described it) and I had the shocker of my life.

He said “oh, those boots, I gave all of them to Oxfarm”.

I was gasping for air, I thought I was going to die of shock. I muscled up some voice muscles and asked as quietly as I could “what do you mean “them”?”.

He said “all the boots, we are moving to Nigeria soon so I thought you won’t need them”.

OMG if I could I would have beaten him up like no man’s business (I’m not promoting violence but hey...those were my shoes!!!). I was in shock and was teary eyed. I could not believe someone who loves me would do that to me.

I don’t know if I’ve forgiving him for that. He gave about 10 pairs of my shoes away, including the pair of Burgundy snake skin Knee high boots I bought when we got engaged in Paris in 2001. Oh did I mention some cloths as well. He thought I had too many and I was not going to need them. Erm, let me decided next time please.

Anyway, I thought I’d share this story this week and as I type this, I’m getting upset all over again.... till next time it’s Batamini (yes MY SHOES).

Please share your shoe story with me, send me an email at batamini1331@gmail.com lots of love.

Batamini Story

Today I decided to wear my black court shoes from a store in the UK. I have two of this same pair of shoes in different colours. They are like the most comfortable shoes ever. I wear them almost everyday (the black ones I mean). I have so many black work shoes but I love the black version of this one so much I wear them all the time and this pair of shoes has become my regular daytime shoe.

(apologies, i took this picture at the end of a hectic day)

Shoe Shame

My sister and I had to attend an event on a Saturday afternoon. We got all dolled up looking like we could be eaten up (no kidding). We got to the event, did the red carpet hoola looking all great and confident. We started walking to the entrance of the hall and the unimaginable happened, her shoe broke. It was like something out of a movie, a horror movie!!! I asked which part of the shoe broke and luckily it was her shoe strap. The unfortunate thing for us was that the pair of shoes needed the strap to hold it in place. So we had to look for the nearest ‘little girl’s room’ to try to sort out the shoe disaster. Now I don’t know how many people saw this happen but it was one of the most embarrassing seconds of my life and she must have felt worse.

In the ‘little girls room’ we found a way to hold the shoe together and we walked out like nothing happened. Luckily the usherettes found our seats pretty quickly so we sat and enjoyed the rest of the evening.
Have you got an embarrassing story about your shoes or anything else, lets share it on batamini. send to batamini1331@gmail.com

Love my shoes, love you all.

Faking it... not my choice at looking good.

A brand of shoes I love and won’t mind spending some form of good money on is the Christian Louboutin brand of shoes. I love the way each pair of shoes look like they have been carefully handcrafted and put together by careful hands. Hmmm, it’s like being in shoe heaven when in the store and always having a shoegasm (you know what I mean).

These shoes are so good looking every woman wants to own a pair. To an extent that some go ahead and knowingly purchase a Louboutin copy.

My mantra about anything designer is that I either buy it or I don’t. You won’t catch me going around in fake or copied version of anything designer. If I can’t afford the real thing, I go for high street, no shame in that darling.

These fake imitations do not only affect the Louboutin brand (to an extent where they have set up a website to warn people about these fake products, www.stopfakelouboutin.com ), I recently read a story about Gucci suing an online store for calling itself Gucci and selling fake Gucci products, OMG I don’t understand why people do this. I think, instead of wasting time producing fake products of other people’s brands, why not start small and create your own brand. My thoughts… what do you think??? send me your comments about this please.

I went to the mall recently and I almost passed out at the number of ladies, strutting their stuff in glaringly fake pair of Louboutin shoes, I seriously don't know how they do it, you know, walking around confident that they are wearing fake designer gear.... on another note, I have said this before (I think), I love it when ladies strut in their high heels like they know wassup and can walk miles in them. I saw a lady at an event I spoke at recently and she wore a pair of black patent Louboutin, (the real one) and she looked good dancing Azonto in them. These are not the most comfortable design of shoes, but she rocked them well.

remember to send me a picture of your shoes and why you decided to wear them. send to batamini1331@gmail.com  lots of love.
